Bruce Lipton, a world famous doctor, educator and author is often quoted by his supporters as an icon of self-help and physical fitness. Born in 1906, Bruce Lipton received his medical degree from Harvard University and worked for the U.S. Public Health Service for over twenty years. Instead, he believesour unconscious mind provides the critical information that guides and directs our behavior. And although this portion of our mind is far more difficult to influence than logic and reflection, it is also more resistant to negative manipulation. This means that we can change undesirable behavior patterns much more easily and efficiently than we could with logic and rational thinking alone.

He says you need to be willing to go beyond your comfort zone when solving complex problems, and he recommends using intuition as an extra tool. Intuition comes into play as it helps us connect what we already know to our subconscious mind, which in turn helps us make connections to the unconscious mind. Because mindful information tends to limit our instinctive skills, consciously processing too much information at once may have a severe inhibitory effect.
